Â
Webeden.co.uk Re-introduced
In our last article we looked easy ways that you can get involved with âWeb 2.0â, the latest Internet buzz word. You donât need to be a programming genius to do this thanks to the professional free website builder from webeden.co.uk. The âWhat You See Is What You Getâ WYSIWYG editor allows all comers to build a website, even if its their first time on the Internet. The latest release has a host of Web 2.0 features so that even though youâre using a free tool, you can still make a cutting edge website.
Webeden.co.uk â lets recap
With Webeden.co.uk, the free website builder â any person connected to the Internet can build a website that ranks up there with the professionals. Getting going is as easy as a few clicks of your mouse, and then boom â your new website is launched. Once the site is launched the fun bit starts â redesigning and editing your website. Thanks to webeden.co.ukâs simple point and click interface, its as easy as clicking on an object and dragging it to the location you desire. Adding text is just a matter of double clicking on the text box and then deleting the pre-filled text. Adding photos takes place with just two clicks of a mouse. So you want a photo of you and the hockey team on the top right? No problem, click âadd photoâ and then click on the photo you want to add; then just click on it with your mouse and drag it to the top right of the screen. All done!
What is Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is a catch all term applied to websites where the exchange of information between website and website visitor is reciprocal. âOldâ websites (lets call it Web 1.0!) simply disseminated information from the website owner to the website visitor, and were usually all about a product, service or idea. With Web 2.0 website visitors can contribute to the content of the website, by either leaving comments, posting suggestions, or exchanging information with other website visitors. This can also be called website âuser generated contentâ or UCG.
How can Webeden.co.uk help me with Web 2.0
To put this simply, the website builder from Webeden.co.uk includes a whole host of widgets and gizmos that built into the control panel. All that the website owner need to do is add these to their site, with a click of the mouse. These widgets allow website visitors interact with the website, and exchange information with other website visitors. Youâve probably seen all these tools at some point before â thereâs nothing particularly new or exciting about them. However the key difference here is that they are all included in the Webeden.co.uk website building tool â website owners can add them by just clicking on a button. Previously you needed to be a technical wizard to set them up on your website. Part 1 of this article showed you some of them – hereâs some more to keep you happy.
Memberships
One of the best ways that you can encourage a close relationship between your website and the people visiting it is invite membership of your website. People who become members of websites are far more likely to trust the information they find there, come back more frequently, and most importantly tell their friends how great your site is. Webeden.co.uk allows you to enable membership and have people ‘join’ your site, creating their own username and password. The only thing you need to decide is what your visitors get in return for becoming members. It might be they get exclusive access to unique articles, advice or photos, or become a member of your âclubâ.
Forums
Forums have been around since the early days of the Internet, and are one of the best ways to allow your users to interact with each other. For your visitors, theyâre very simple to use, and often a good source of advice. You can add a forum to your website with just two clicks of your website builder â the only thing you need to do then is encourage your users to start making posts. The best way to do that is to start a few topic threads yourself. When others post questions or comments make sure you respond to them. And the more people comment, the more people are going to comment! With the webeden.co.uk forum you can
⢠set subjects, topics & posts views for many different threads of discussion
⢠set permissions, e.g. guests, or members only
⢠set edit rights for moderators (e.g. members or a group of members)
⢠lock subjects
⢠set posts as ’sticky’
⢠search all subjects/posts
With the Webeden.co.uk forum tool all topics have their own RSS feed, so your visitors can keep up with the latest threads. All posts can contain rich text formatting, e.g. bold, and can contain links. And one of the best liked features, all posts have emoticons, to add a bit of personality to your forum!
Ken Builder is the Webmaster at www.webeden.co.uk and wants everyone to build a website for free. Getting access is great Web 2.0 tools has is now easy open to everyone – try the website builder now.

8 Brain-Branding Web Presentation Concepts, Part II
In ‘8 Brain-Branding Web Presentation Concepts, Part I’ we discussed the first four brain-related marketing concepts that if incorporated into website presentations help generate brand preference purchase decisions. Part II continues with the next four concepts.
5. Cognitive Itch
James J. Kellaris, Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration is an expert in studying why certain songs get stuck in peoples’ heads. Its a phenomenon we have all experienced, and one he refers to as Cognitive Itch, the mental equivalent of an itch you can’t get rid of no matter how much you scratch.
Kellaris has identified three main criteria for producing music that generates the Cognitive Itch response: simplicity, incongruity, and repetition. These same principles can be applied to the development of an effective Web video campaign that creates a Cognitive Itch response to your product, service or brand.
In creating Web video campaigns for clients, we use these same memory-inducing criteria. Simplicity: (focused content, one video, one major point); Incongruity: (an offbeat approach or host-presenter that demands attention); and Repetition: (the repetition of signature verbal and visual taglines, and mnemonic sound logos that re-enforce the message and the brand).
6. SlipStreaming
Max Sutherland is an Australian marketing consultant, Adjunct Professor at Bond University, and author of “Advertising & the Mind of the Consumer.” Sutherland’s notion of SlipStreaming as a marketing tactic comes from the racing world. Auto and bike racers often conserve energy and propel momentum by tucking behind the race leader, thereby reducing wind resistance so at an opportune time they can accelerate past their competition.
SlipStreaming in the marketing world is similar. You associate your marketing message with an already well-known visual, auditory, or conceptual element that provides instant recognition and familiarity but with your own twist. The familiarity aspect equates to the racer sitting behind the leader conserving resources, while the twist provides the marketing momentum to push past the competition.
We use the technique quite often when we present our video marketing concepts. To convey the point that search engine optimization doesn’t deal with delivering an effective marketing message to audiences once they arrive at your website, we emulated the iconic MAC versus PC advertisements by pitting a Multimedia Guy against an SEO Guy; people instantly understood the format and quickly caught on to the message.
In another presentation for the SonicPersonality concept we used the familiar movie trailer format in a series of different genre styles as a metaphor for presenting the ultimate mission statement or elevator pitch.
You are surrounded by familiar and iconic images, symbols, and personalities; all you have to do, is recognize what works and how to implement it. Being clever, entertaining, and persuasive is about talent, not deep pockets.
7. The Paradox of Choice & Information Anxiety
Barry Schwartz, is a psychologist and Professor at Swarthmore College who has written a book called “The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less.” His premise is quite simple: the more choices you have offered to you, the less likely you are to make a decision. This is a problem that is rampant on websites in every market sector.
Whether it’s an entrepreneur trying to get his or her money’s worth by cramming every last bit of information into a presentation; an ecommerce site cataloging every know product ever invented; or a multinational that demands every competing sales, marketing, and stock market objective be included, the result is the same: confusion and paralysis.
Schwartz’s work points to four basic consequences that result from blitzing an audience with too much information: decision-making paralysis, buyer dissatisfaction, lost opportunity regret, and expectation escalation.
Back in 1989, Richard Saul Wurman, an architect, graphic designer, and cartographer wrote a book called “Information Anxiety” in which he pointed out the same basic premise: “Information Anxiety is produced by the ever-widening gap between what we understand and what we think we should understand.”
The more we know the more we understand how little we know and that is not good for business, yet most businesses both big and small conform to the notion that more features, more benefits, and more text on their websites will somehow bring in more business; the fact is the opposite is true.
8. The Gestalt of It All
We’ve all heard the expression, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts; this in essence summarizes the meaning of Gestalt theory. Gestalt, a German word that literally means ’shape’ or ‘figure,’ is a psychological theory that posits the brain organizes sensory input into recognizable patterns in order to make sense of it, and understand its meaning and implications. This is one reason why the Slipstream marketing method mentioned earlier works so well.
In some sense the idea of Gestalt ties all the previously mentioned concepts together. How our brains interpret what we see, hear, and feel, drives who we are, what we think, and how we act.
In marketing terms, your website is the ideal platform for generating the kind of pattern recognition that some would call knowledge, what others might call understanding. But whatever you call it, the skillful presentation of information that uses all available sensory expression is what forms buyer preference, the major ingredient that gets your audience to buy what you sell rather than your competitors.
Human Motivational Optimization
What people experience makes them who they are. Who they are determines whether or not they’re going to buy what you sell. And who they are is the result of their accumulated experiences. The concepts discussed above, afford businesses the opportunity to develop the kind of website that actually influences behavior and brand preference.
If your website doesn’t use the motivational tools available to present a memorable experience that forms opinion and preference then it will probably never provide you with the results you want or expect.

Most Difficult Part Of All Ad Sense Business
90% of problems with Adsense businesses is caused by the fact that Ad Sense businessmen-to-be don’t know much about what Ad Sense is and how it really works. While you definitely don’t have to know all the technical details, for visit to:-www.web-audios-plus.comit is an imperative that you understand all the basics. The advertisers pay either per each click on their ad or per thousand impressions (thousand people who have opened your website with the ad on it). A fraction of the price they pay goes to you – the website owner. Google acts only as an intermediary and editor; it is neither the source nor the real provider of any ads. How Google knows what adverts to display on your site? Everything begins within the Ad Words program. When advertisers create their ads, they also choose key phrases that are relevant to their ads. For example, if one creates an advert of a snowboarding website, he will probably choose such key phrases as “snowboard”, “snowboarding”, “snowboard styles”, “snowboard course” etc. Starting an Ad Sense website In order to start a real Ad Sense website that will become a steady income stream, you have to remember about: *popularity – check what people look for on the Internet and build your site around one of the most popular topics. Use Word tracker or Iceboat and take a look at the most often searched keywords to get some ideas. *relevant content – Ad Sense is not an artificial intelligence and certainly not a mind reader. You have to put a lot of content that speaks about the website’s topic AND USE THE KEY PHRASES! Otherwise you risk that some ads may miss your website and you get others that are irrelevant to your website. This may greatly decrease the click-through ratio. A tip: do not use the content you can find on the Internet, even if it is marked “public domain” – Google loves fresh unpublished articles. *proper ad placement – most people who browse the website look at the upper left corner of screen first, then at the mid-upper part and lower left and only lastly at the lower right part of screen. Make sure that you can place your ads where people look first – this increases the chance they click on them. Registration process: registration process is very simple and, what’s even more important, free. and complete the registration form. Just remember that you have to add the provided script to your website before you get any ads displayed! Get the traffic: now, when you have a decent website and relevant ads all you need is people who will visit your site and click on the ads. more visit to :-www.video-web-wizards.com If your website attracts 1000 visitors a day, you can count on it to bring you a healthy profit. There are dozens of methods you can use. Among the most popular are: adding links to web directories, writing articles to article directories and getting links from other, relevant sites. It is probably the most difficult part of all Adsense business, broad enough to be discussed in another article.

What Does It Cost To Start A Home-Based Internet Business?: Part Two Of Four
(In Part One of this series–Can I Start A Home-Based Internet Marketing Business With a Zero Budget?–Thia discussed one category of business start-up called Capital expenses. Part Two, which follows, addresses Operating Expenses…and more.)
Q: What are “Operating Expenses?”
A: Operating Expenses are ongoing, recurring costs that go along with keeping a business tooled up and functioning to generate profits (which then go back into the business to grow it even more, etc).
Some operating expenses to work online from home might include the following:
Marketing–the actual promotion of the product, service, or opportunity will sometimes cost money. There are lots of ways to market online, and the options range from free (YES-much can be done with little or no cost whatsoever) to…well, not free.
Marketing costs can include such things as paid advertising (you can set the ceiling cost); subscriptions to list-building services; lead purchasing (not recommended by this business owner); domain/URL registration costs; website hosting; and such.
Communications systems–
You’ll need to maintain a high-speed Internet connection, phone service with voice mail and unlimited long distance, and perhaps an international calling plan (if you market globally).
Professional/support services–A merchant account is needed to take payments online); you may want subscriptions to various kinds of syndication (automated distribution) services, to ensure that your valuable content/offer is reaching the greatest number of potential customers; you may choose to outsource (that is, hire someone else to create or manage) some of your content (article writing, Web 2.0 properties, blogging, etc.); back-office support, including trainingand ongoing skill development.
NOTE: If you don’t invest in becoming an expert, those who do will quickly corner the profits that could have been yours.
Q: How about fees to “buy into” an Internet Marketing business?
A: These will vary, but yes-you can expect that in most cases there will be some kind of application and/or start-up fee. Beware the exceptions because the costs will only be more hidden.
Here are some tips to make sure you don’t get burned:
Anything you pay while you are still gathering information about a company or opportunity should come with a written money back guarantee.
Check to see what period of time the guarantee covers-24 hours? (not so much) 30 days? (much better)-and use that time to learn all you can.
Avoid any company that does NOT provide such a guarantee up front.
With a guarantee in hand you should be able to pay the “start-here” fee confidently-you will have little to lose and perhaps much to gain.
Q: How much is it reasonable to pay up front?
A: As with the previous questions, this one also depends–partly on you, and partly on what is included in the fee.
Use your head, along with your heart, on this one. Follow these guidelines:
An application or start-up fee should be modest-affordable for you;
the compensation plan presented to you should thoroughly explain what you would need to do to see both a return on your initial investment and future profits.
If you absolutely do not have the amount of money requested just to open the door, then the chances are good that this opportunity is out of your reach at this time.
Better to walk away than to get in over your head.

Building Your Website With Wordpress (part 1)
What is Wordpress?
Wordpress is a free, easy to install and use blog and content management system. You can download Wordpress at: http://wordpress.org/download/.
Why Wordpress?
Wordpress is free, easy to install and easy to use
You can quickly create new static pages (About Us, Our Services, Contact Us, etc.)
You can easily maintain a business or personal blog and archive older articles
Wordpress can create search engine-friendly pages
You can choose from hundreds of templates (also called themes or designs) to install
You can choose from hundreds of plug-ins (such as calendars, contact forms, photo galleries, etc.) to add.
Installing Wordpress on Your Webhost
Option 1 : If you know how to use FTP and how to create a MySQL database, you can probably install it yourself quickly using the installation instructions at Wordpress.
Option 2: If you chose a webhost that includes the script library Fantastico or if you chose Netfirms.com, you can use their useful automatic installation tools. Please note: this method may not be as secure as option one.
1) Webhost with Fantastico
I will use Hostpapa.com as an example because I often recommend it to clients, but it could be any other host with Fantastico.
Login to the control panel at http://www.hostpapa.ca/cplogin.shtml
Scroll down to the « Software » section and click on « Fantastico De Luxe »
In the left menu, under « Blog », you will find « Wordpress ». Click on « Wordpress » and then on « New Installation ».
Choose your domain name in the drop-down menu.
Type the directory where you want to install Wordpress. Leave it empty if you want to install it in the root folder
Type an admin username and a password
Put in your admin nickname, e-mail address and your site’s name as well as a self-explanatory slogan.
Click on « Install Wordpress » and then on « Finish Installation ».
Your are ready to login to your admin account!
2) Netfirms Netfirms.com, another host I frequently recommend, is a bit different:
Login to the control panel at https://controlpanel.netfirms.com
Click on the menu item « Site Tools »
Under « Applications » you will see « Wordpress ». Click on « Wodpress »
On the next page, click on « Add New », on the right-hand side of the page.
Type the directory where you want to install Wordpress. Leave it empty if you want to install it in the root folder.
Select your domain name and click « Add »
Option 3: If you prefer, you can have it installed by a freelancer for around $25. All the freelancer will need is access to your server and the option to create a MySQL database.
Creating Content
Once Wordpress is installed on the server, you can login to your admin account and create content in two different ways:
1) Create static pages such as « About Us », « Contact », « Services », etc.
In the main menu, click on « Write » and then on « Page »
Type a title in the « Title » field
Type and format your content in the « Page » field
Click on the button « Publish »
And voilà, a new menu item will automatically be created in your site menu, linking to this new page.
2) Write a post (article)
In the main menu, click on « Write » and then on « Post »
Type a title in the « Title » field
Type and format your content in the « Post » field
Below you can type tags. Tags are keywords that describe the topic of your post.
Select or add a category in which to post your article. This will help organize and archive your posts.
Click on the button « Publish »
A new title will automatically be created in your categories and will link to this article. Most likely, and depending on your settings, this new article will also appear on your home page.
You can include images, videos, audio and other files in both posts and pages using the buttons next to “Add Media”.
