How to Make the Best Use of Web Hosting With Free Domain Name

The answer is a big YES. When you sign up for a web hosting account with a free domain name, what it implies is that you will not have to pay for the domain name registration and yearly renewal as long as you are subscribed to that particular web hosting company. Web hosting with free domain names came into being because of competition and improvement of customer hosting services delivery. Many web hosting companies offer free domain name with their hosting accounts to entice customers to their services and to keep old customers to themselves. This is a good development in the web hosting world because for each free domain name you are given, you are automatically saving an average of $10 yearly which you would have paid for renewing such domain name if you were to be paying for it.

Picking and Registering Relevant Domain Name for Your Business

It will not be appropriate to register talkingandwriting.com as your domain name when your business is based on fashion and fashion trends. You have to register a domain that best relates to your business for example: fashiontrend.com is suitable for the fashion business. It is also necessary you try to always choose a dot com extension if it is available because it is not just the commonest and most typo generic but also business related. You can also use dot net or doc org but consider dot com first if your domain is going to be used for business purposes.

What You Should Know About Free Domain Names

The domain name that was registered for you free by any web hosting company is still completely yours and there is no need for you to entertain any fear regarding your absolute right to the domain name. Some had argued that it sometimes proves not too smooth to transfer such free domain names to another web hosting company when one decides to change his or her hosting company. This is far from being truthful because all you need to do is just transfer your domain name to your favorite domain registrar such as NameCheap or Godaddy after signing up for your web hosting account. You have complete and absolute control over the domain name even though it was registered for you free with a web hosting account.

Even when you want to walk away from the web hosting company that freely registered the domain name for you, you can still go with your free domain name. The first step you will take when you want your domain name transferred to another is to send a support ticket to your web hosting company intimating them of your decision to move your account both hosting and domain name to another company. They should be able to promptly have your domain name transferred for you. You will then follow it up by changing your domain name servers to point back to your servers.

Once the transfer is effected, modify the primary DNS and secondary DNS and you will have your site successfully migrated. In many cases the new domain company will help you to transfer all you files to the new domain account. When all these are successfully done your site should be up and smoothly running again in less than 48 hours.

Name Your Business & Website – Best Home Based Business Tips

Every entrepreneur who wants to work at home can start a business to match their personality and still avoid the major pitfalls. Here’s what to look for.

Most small business people are anxious to get their companies up and running as quickly as possible. But rushing in wearing blinders will sink your business before it ever gets a strong start.

I admit it. Everything you’re about to read I’ve done. Learn from my starting a business mistakes and post these to-do’s and not to-do’s in your office today.

HOW TO NAME A BUSINESS

1. Don’t mix two businesses into one website. Ask me and I’ll recommend a web hosting and domain name company that allows you unlimited accounts for one low price. Like many entrepreneurs, I had two solid businesses and thought I could save a few pennies by combining them both on one website. What a mistake. The search engines don’t like it and if you want to find your website anywhere in the first couple pages of a search, you’ll want to make those search engines happy. Spend the money and forget about saving pennies.

2. Do choose easy to spell domain names. If your potential customers cannot find you easily, you’ve lost business. My first business was named Godseer and whenever I said it out loud people thought I was saying God Fear. Sometimes people were Googling it and typed gods ear. So please, choose easy to spell domain names. Your paying customers will thank you.

3. Don’t use underscores and numbers in your company name if you can help it. Your customers want, yes I’m going to say it again, to easily find you.

4. If you’re in a competitive market, end your web address with .com rather than .org or .net. The reason is that most searchers are used to typing .com and will often miss type your address if it does not end in .com. Make it EASY on your potential customers.

5. Your business name should be keyword strong, memorable and related to your business niche. For example, when I bought my domain name, Godseer, it was designed to help stay at home entrepreneurs. But would you know that by the name? Big mistake. Unfortunately I had already promoted this site extensively before I realized the errors of my ways. So now I’m stuck with it.

BEST WEBSITE ADVICE

For newbies, when you order a business website for your company you should know that you have now made your products and services available world wide, rather than just in your own neighborhood. Wider audience base equals more chances for bigger income. Here are some really hot tips to get you up and running.

1. Try your best to have your website name match your business name.

2. Every website must be managed by an outside website hosting company. It’s not something you can do yourself. There are some free website hosts out there on the web but I don’t recommend them for the following reasons: (a) They offer no tech support, and believe me, you’ll need it. (b) Your website will include the “free” company’s ads. Those ads may actually turn out to be your competition and you have no say in it.

The website hosting company I use also reserves my web name so that no other business can use it. And, they teach their customers how to make a website. My hosting company charges me $19 a month plus $10 a year for each domain name registration. I have two business with this one company so I pay $19 per month (includes both businesses) and $20 per year to hold the registered names.

That’s it, it’s very easy!

Expand Your Business With Correct Domain Name And Web Hosting

There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that your business can never go well if you don’t maintain an online presence. That’s the point where websites come into picture with a bang. If you don’t have a website for your business, you should not expect a lot of improvement in your profit. But, do you think a website is the only thing you need to reap more profit? Probably not!

The reason is that there are many people who sell your type of products and you have to do something to stand out from the crowd. This is the reason why you should pay attention to few important things.

Domain Name:

The first important thing to keep in mind is that your website is not going to do any good if your domain name is not correct. Well, this is the point where many people make a mistake, as many are totally unaware of what a ‘correct’ domain names is all about. Here, you should keep in mind that your domain name or URL is what others will be writing to access your website. If this domain name is not easy to remember, you might lose a good number of customers. What it means is that instead of focusing on using a stylish, yet confusing domain name you should be going with something simple.

Another thing to understand is that your website will perform well if you use your target keyword in your domain name. This is something to help search engines access your sites with ease. This is sure to have some positive effects on your website traffic and ranking. So, when using a website to expand your business, it is important to make sure the domain name is ‘correct’.

Web Hosting:

Your first step should always be to find a correct domain name for your website, but what’s the second? Well, go search for the best web hosting for your website. Here, the best way to help yourself is to first determine the size of your website. If you think your website is on the heavier side due to several graphics, it will be a mistake to go for shared hosting. The best option in this situation will be to go for virtual private server. This is to make sure your visitors don’t have to wait for long to explore different pages of your website. This will improve your conversion rate in a great way.

The fact of the matter is that websites are important for your business, but you just can not afford to relax in this situation. There are many things that have to be taken into consideration and two of the most important ones are mentioned above. If you are interested in making your website attract more people, you should never overlook the importance of finding a correct domain name and hosting plan. So, take some time and opt for the best for your business.

How to Use Gmail to Send and Receive Mails Under your Own Domain Name

We know that Gmail is fast and easy to use. It is virus as well as spam free. Gmail is web based and universally accessible.

But, for most internet users, the biggest turn off is the fact that you cannot use your own domain name with Gmail. In fact no free webmail service is known to me which provides this facility as on today.

However there is a workaround! You can use the “cool and fast” interface of Gmail and send/receive mails using your “professional” email ID using your own domain name.

For that you have to do the following simple steps:

· Grab a domain name. Register it from any leading registrar

· Host the domain on a reliable server

· Create an Email account. Say you created yourname@yourdomainname.com

· Open a Gmail account say yourname@gmail.com

· Now you can set a forwarder in your server to forward all mails coming to yourname@yourdomainname.com to yourname@gmail.com. Thus you are keeping a copy of all incoming emails on your server and sending a copy to your Gmail account so that you can access it from there.

· Now log into your Gmail account. Go to Settings => Accounts. Click on Add another email address. Enter yourname@yourdomainname.com email address there and confirm.

· Now Google will send you a verification email. Since it will be sent to yourname@yourdomainname.com, it will be forwarded to yourname@gmail.com. So you can instantly check that and enter the validation code.

· Once validated, you can again go to Settings => Account and mark this account as your default account.

· Now, whenever you will send an email, it will go from yourname@yourdomainname.com even when you are sending it from your Gmail account. And of course all replies will come to your gmail interface as yourname@yourdomainname.com emails are forwarded there.

Enjoy! The productivity enhancement Gmail offers to you without losing on your brand image.

Make Sure You Read This About Picking The Right Domain Name

What are domain names, and why are they used? This question has been asked by many people curious about online culture. Basically, a domain name is the online address of a particular website. It is supposed to be designed so as to make a particular website stand out from the others; something to give it individuality on the internet and gain the attention desired by the owner. If the address of a website is website.com/index, the domain name is website.com. A domain name can be purchased at several places, including godaddy.com, and hosting sites such as hostgator.com can provide a place to put the website. But while it’s a relatively simple procedure to get a domain name, finding the right one can make or break what you are trying to accomplish.

1. Stuffing ten words into one space will only overwhelm potential visitors and they won’t bother with your site. Choose a name that is short and easy to remember, but accordant to who you are and what you do. If your business name is Matt Smith and Company, pick something such as mattsmith.com. Three or four words should be your absolute limit.

2. Do research on key words and phrases that relate to your company. Think about what you might type into a search engine if you were looking for information on the subject your website will specialize in; this is also known as SEO, or search engine optimization. If your goal is to provide resources on cookie recipes, you could try cookierecipes.com or cookieideas.com. There are a number of SEO help applications you can use, but many of them cost money, so keep that in mind. If you use SEO, you could get a lot of extra traffic.

3. Choosing something that will only offend your customers will ensure you lose business. Make sure that the name sounds professional. Additionally, avoid anything that could potentially and unintentionally spell out something questionable. For example, asexfilm.com could be read as “a sex film” as opposed to your company name, Asex Film. You can prevent this by separating the words with dashes; underscores are not a good idea, nor do they appear attractive.

4. The right domain name will let people know if you are local, or if you want to be accessible all over the country or world. Something like michigancars.com implies that you operate only in Michigan. However, carsusa.com would give you a broader appeal.

5. Finally, the reason you want to pick the right domain name is so that you won’t be considered a copycat if it’s too identical to another site. Be sure to check that what you want is not taken before getting too attached.
